Bio

Poet, Screenwriter, Art Director

With a Creative Writing Master's degree from Université de Montréal, Florence is a franco-congolese, Montreal-raised poet, screenwriter and Art Director. Her themes of predilection navigate intermedialism, feminism, religion and cultural identity. She completed Black on Black Film's writing residency in 2020 and wrote a first screenplay the same year with the support of the Indigenous Screen Office, a piece where she explores religion and sapphic love in Montreal's black communities. A collective project brought her new mentorship with Phi Center's expo In Flux, where she cro-wrote and art-directed for the short Film Path.
