Makila ( "We", "us", "our") is a solidarity cooperative created in accordance with the Quebec law related to cooperatives, having its registered office at 3737, rue Hutchison #1, Montréal, QC, H2X 2H4, Canada and we respect your privacy when you use our platform makila.tv (“Makila.tv”).

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We do not collect personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily provide it, such as when you provide your name, address and email contact information to subscribe to our email list newsletter, send feedback to us, create your account, register for one of our events or respond to a survey. If you voluntarily provide your email address or other contact information, we might also use it to inform you of changes to Makila.tv and our cooperative, to survey you about your use or opinion of Makila.tv or our cooperative, or to ask for your support. At anytime, by contacting us at info@makila.tv , we will remove your contact information from our files and we will stop collecting, using or disclosing it.

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

We do not make your contact information or any other personally identifiable information available to anyone outside our cooperative or its service providers (who use the information only for authorized purposes and if necessary to perform the services they provide to us) unless we are legally required to do so.

HOW THE INFORMATIONS ARE USED

In addition to the above, we collect certain anonymous (non-personally identifiable) information to help us improve Makila.tv and to evaluate the access and use of our materials and the impact of our cooperative on the community:

We collect information you provide about your use of and satisfaction with our cooperative and Makila.tv through email you send us, through our feedback form, and through our surveys, whether or not you voluntarily include your contact information.

We may use web analysis tools that are built into Makila.tv to measure and collect anonymous session information.

COOKIES

We also use “cookies” to improve your web experience and to collect anonymous information about how you use Makila.tv. However, cookies are not required for our use. If your browser is configured not to accept cookies, you will still be able to access Makila.tv and its content.

When we report information about Website access, use, and impact, we report aggregate, non-personally identifiable data. Occasionally, we report quoted feedback from users. We do not attribute feedback to specific individuals unless we obtain permission to use that person’s name along with the feedback.

USE BY THIRD PARTIES

Once you leave Makila.tv or are redirected via a link on Makila.tv or not to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms and conditions and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on Makila.tv. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If Makila.tv is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

These terms are governed by Canadian laws. Any contract for the purchase of online courses from this site and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with any such contract will be governed by Canadian law. You and we both agree that the courts located in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all controversies arising under this agreement and agree that venue is proper in those courts.
